This is my idea of this years best albums...
Feel free to argue with me!
1. FrankMusik - Complete Me
Easily the best album of the year. This LP has everything that great pop music should have, catchy tunes and good easy to sing to lyrics and he is fantastic live!
2. Lady GaGa - The Fame/Monster
Already an amazing album selling 30 million copies in 12 months alone, made even better by the inclusion of Monster with all new songs throwing this album right to the top of my favorites.
3. Little Boots - Hands
Hailed as the next big thing back in 2008 Victoria decided to wait another 12 months after the internet release of Stuck On Repeat to release the album. A fantastic debut from a huge talent that is also brilliant live, much overlooked in favor of the awful La Roux album.
4. Paramore - Brand New Eyes
The teenage emo angst of their first two albums has been replaced by amazing rock riffs, inspired lyrics and a more mature voice. Deserved the success it had.
5. Paloma Faith - Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful
WOW... an instant classic album with heartfelt lyrics delivered in a retro soulful way that sends shivers down the spine.
6. Jordin Sparks - Battlefield
Took me a long time to get into this but after a while it becomes evident that this is one brilliant LP with great pop tunes such as SOS and classic ballads like the title track and Don't Let It Go To Your Head, desrves to be bigger in the UK!
7. Alexandra Burke - Overcome
This album proves that sometimes X Faxtor style shows get it right, a killer voice belting out some of the best pop songs you will hear this side of noughties.
8. Beverly Knight - 100%
100% brilliant in every sence of the saying, shame it wasnt a more commercial success, puts Mariah, Whitney and Leona to shame.
9. Nerina Pallot - The Graduate
A suprise and random purchase, well worth £8
10. Tiesto - Kaleidoscope
A change in musical direction from the King of trance to a more techno sound, great collaborations with Sneaky Sound System, Bloc Party and Nelly Furtado to name a few.
Other notable mentions this year go to Beyonce and Alesha, altho not strictly out this year the re-released versions were and both are fantastic albums in their own right.
The worst album of the year has to go to;
Cheryl Cole - 3 Words
Those 3 words being - complete, utter and rubbish! Weak vocals, terrible lyrics and poor production yet a number one due to the overexposure of the chav-done-good on THAT show!
Well thats my geek over with for the day, feel free to leave comments u all know I love a good music debate!
